You CAN make money from YouTube, but not in the way you think.

We’ll start with a hard truth.

You won’t get rich from ads on YouTube videos.

Unless you have the charisma of Neil deGrasse Tyson and you produce super generalist content, it’s not going to happen.

Firstly, not enough people watch technical programming content. In my experience, a great programming video will get 20k views at best, while a grand slam might get 50k.

Given an average earnings of $0.75 per 1000 views, that’s not enough views to earn anything worth bragging about.
